Volunteer
Sight Support West Cumbria benefits from the support of committed volunteers from the community, some of whom are visually impaired and some are sighted. They take part in a range of activities across our charity. Here are a few examples of how our volunteers help us:
Trustees: Responsible for governance and oversight of our charity. Our trustees are volunteers who come from a range of backgrounds. They take part in regular meetings as well as other charity events and activities.
Social Groups: Volunteers help to run our social groups in the area. Take part in preparing the venues, providing refreshments as well as assisting our group attendees, ensuring they stay connected with their community. Please contact us to find out more about how you can support us.
Administration: Our volunteers help with various operational aspects of the charity, from answering phones to preparing low vision aids; their support really makes a difference!
We could not deliver our service without volunteers. We provide training and support to ensure the best possible experience for our volunteers and service users.

Friends Scheme:
By becoming a Friend of Sight Support West Cumbria you are playing an essential role providing ongoing support to visually impaired people in West Cumbria.
The Friends of Sight Support West Cumbria support our charity through regular donations. This support allows our charity to plan for the future and can also benefit from Gift Aid.
